Are you interested in being part of the magic of the theatre? Yes! We would love to meet you!

We are a friendly volunteer organisation and we are always seeking new members to join in the fun! There are many exciting aspects of the theatre that you can take part in, both on- and off-stage, and we need people just like you!

Would you like to be the face of our company by welcoming and serving patrons at front of house?

Perhaps you can help with set-building – no experience is necessary, and it’s a great opportunity to meet new people and chat over lunch!

Maybe you are a secondary or tertiary student looking for opportunities to gain practical experience to add to your CV? We would love to support your skill growth in areas such as sound and lighting operation, stage management, photography, costuming, graphic design, marketing, and anything else you can think of in between!

We run four shows a year and your commitment need not be significant – even helping to build just one of our spectacular sets or spending a few nights a year serving your fellow patrons would be of great assistance!

Members receive our quarterly newsletter Echoes, invitations to special events (such as our Annual General Meetings and End of Year Functions), and the Playbill. Membership costs $20 per year (or $10 for concessions).

To become a member, you can either pay using the form below, or download and submit a Membership Application. Submissions can be emailed or posted. Payments can be made via online banking, cash, or via cheque. More detail about this can be found on the application form.

We are currently looking for directors for 2025.

People interested in directing for Encore are encouraged to contact the theatre at info@encoretheatre.com.au or expressing their interest by filling in the form below.

While there are considerations that can influence the choice of play, our preference is to work with directors on what they would like to stage, settle on what Season would suit them best, and discuss and develop their proposals from there.

Any Expression of Interest should include some background on yourself in theatre and list any recent directing credits. While detailed proposals are not required at the outset, some broader mention of possible shows you’d like to direct and how you would approach them would be appreciated.
